Amaravati, Feb 16 (WE THE NAGAS): Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates arrived in Andhra Pradesh on Monday, kicking off high-profile talks with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and other state officials ahead of the India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi.

Gates, who also chairs the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, was welcomed at Gannavaram Airport by IT Minister Nara Lokesh, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan and senior ministers before proceeding to the state secretariat in Amaravati.

At the secretariat, discussions focused on expanding collaboration between the Gates Foundation and the Andhra Pradesh government in key sectors including healthcare, education, agriculture, and artificial intelligence. CM Naidu highlighted the state’s ongoing health initiatives and expressed hopes of scaling them across Andhra Pradesh with Gates’ support.

The talks also delved into technology-driven governance, with Gates scheduled to visit the Real Time Governance System (RTGS) Centre to observe how digital tools are enhancing administrative efficiency. Naidu is expected to present the state’s “Swarna Andhra 2047” vision, a long-term development roadmap embracing innovations in med-tech, diagnostics and public health services.
