Colombo, Feb 15 (WE THE NAGAS): In a commanding display at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, India’s bowlers ran riot as they helped secure the largest margin of victory against Pakistan in T20 World Cup history, beating their arch-rivals by 61 runs in a Group A match at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.

Batting first, India posted a competitive 175/7, powered by a blistering 77 off 40 balls from Ishan Kishan, before the bowlers took charge of the game. Led by incisive spells from Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya, India’s pace and spin attack dismantled Pakistan’s batting lineup, reducing them to 114 all out in 18 overs.

The disciplined Indian bowling unit struck early and often, preventing any significant partnership from developing and keeping the required run rate firmly out of Pakistan’s reach.

The result not only marked India’s biggest ever win over Pakistan by runs in the T20 World Cup but also extended their dominance in the rivalry, taking an 8–1 lead in World Cup encounters between the two sides.
