Kohima, Feb 25 (WE THE NAGAS): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has strongly condemned racial and physical attacks on women from the Northeast, including a recent incident involving a woman from Nagaland.
In a public statement, Rio described such acts as “reprehensible” and said they have no place in society. He emphasized the need to uphold India’s unity in diversity through tolerance, compassion, and respect for human dignity.
The Chief Minister’s remarks come amid growing concern over the safety of people from the Northeast living in different parts of the country. His statement calls for collective responsibility to ensure that incidents of discrimination and violence are not repeated.
Rio urged citizens to promote harmony and mutual respect, stressing that diversity is India’s strength and must be protected.
