Shamator, Feb 16 (WE THE NAGAS): Deputy Commissioner, Shamator, Chubatemjen, along with EAC, Shamator, Mekato J. Aye, flagged off a poster and awareness campaign on “Combating Child Trafficking” at Shamator on 16th February 2026.

The programme was launched by the district administration in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare and the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Shamator.

The campaign aims to sensitise the public on the prevention of child trafficking and the protection of children’s rights. Posters have been prepared in local dialects, Hindi and English to ensure wider outreach and effective communication across communities.

The posters will be displayed at key locations including the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Police Station, Community Health Centre, Office of the Specialised Adoption Agency (SAA), and the Office of the Sub-Divisional Education Officer (SDEO) for further distribution to all government schools in the district. They will also be placed in various wards under Shamator, taxi counters and other public places in and around Shamator town.

The district administration stated that sustained grassroots awareness and active community participation are essential to combat child trafficking and safeguard children. Citizens have been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
