Medziphema, Feb 14 (WE THE NAGAS): The Ashtalakshmi Darshan–Youth Exchange Programme, sponsored by the North Eastern Council (NEC) under the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), concluded yesterday at the School of Agricultural Sciences, Nagaland University, Medziphema campus.
The initiative, jointly organised by the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region and NEC, aims to promote the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” by fostering meaningful connections between youth from non-North Eastern states and the eight North Eastern states. Through academic interactions, cultural exchanges and experiential visits, the programme seeks to strengthen national integration, mutual respect and cultural understanding.
During the exchange programme, participants were exposed to the diverse cultural heritage, traditions and developmental initiatives of the region. The visit to Nagaland University’s Medziphema campus provided students with an opportunity to engage with faculty members, interact with local students and gain insights into agricultural education and research activities in the state.
The programme also encouraged dialogue and collaboration among youth from different parts of the country, enabling them to appreciate the unique socio-cultural landscape of the North East while sharing perspectives from their respective states.
