Ukhrul, Feb 16 (WE THE NAGAS): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Sunday underscored the need to work towards a “Pan-Naga” platform that would provide a collective voice for the Naga people.

Addressing the gathering at the Lui-Ngai-Ni celebration held at Ukhrul Headquarters Ground in Manipur, Mr. Rio emphasized that true unity does not imply uniformity. He stated that unity lies in recognizing a shared destiny while respecting differences among the Naga communities.

The event was organized by the United Naga Council and hosted by the Tangkhul Naga Long. Lui-Ngai-Ni, a seed-sowing festival of the Naga tribes, symbolizes cultural heritage, solidarity, and shared identity among the Naga people.

In his address, the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of strengthening bonds across Naga-inhabited areas and fostering cooperation for common progress. He reiterated that despite geographical and administrative boundaries, the Naga people share deep historical, cultural, and traditional ties that must be nurtured for future generations.

The celebration was attended by community leaders, civil society representatives, and cultural troupes, displaying the spirit of unity and collective aspiration among the Naga tribes.
