𝐊𝐨𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐚, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟑 (𝐖𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐒): Nand Kishore Yadav was sworn in as the 23rd Governor of Nagaland during a ceremony held at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall on Friday.

The oath of office was administered by Ashutosh Kumar in the presence of Neiphiu Rio, members of the State Cabinet, legislators, senior officials and invited dignitaries.

Following the ceremony, the Governor interacted with the Chief Minister and Cabinet members. Addressing the people of the state later, Yadav expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him and thanked Droupadi Murmu and Narendra Modi for entrusting him with the responsibility.

He described Nagaland as a state rich in cultural heritage, strong community values and resilient people, adding that the traditions and spirit of the Naga community are a source of pride for the entire country.

The Governor also noted that the North East region has seen increased focus on connectivity, infrastructure and economic growth in recent years, creating new opportunities while preserving the region’s unique identity.

Yadav said Nagaland is steadily progressing in sectors such as infrastructure, education, agriculture, tourism and digital connectivity. He also highlighted the talent and energy of the state’s youth and stressed the need to create more opportunities for them.

Reaffirming his commitment, the Governor said he would work closely with the state government and all sections of society to promote peace, good governance and inclusive development in Nagaland.
