𝐃𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐩𝐮𝐫, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝟐𝟐 (𝐖𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐒): MGM College celebrated its Freshers’ Day 2026 on August 20 with enthusiasm and youthful energy, welcoming new students into the college community under the theme “New Beginnings, Endless Possibilities.”
The programme began with an invocation by Mrs. Temjenzungla Aier, Assistant Professor, Department of History, followed by a welcome address by Mr. Tokupu, Assistant General Secretary of the Students’ Council. Sr. Shaiu Philip, Administrator of MGM College, encouraged the students to uphold discipline, values, hard work and responsible participation in college life.
Chief Guest Rev. Fr. Sajan Joseph, Executive Director, DAN, delivered an inspiring address, urging the freshers to dream boldly, develop their talents and make meaningful contributions to society.
A major highlight was the Mr. and Miss Fresher competition. Mr. Arem from the Department of History was declared Mr. Fresher, while Miss Jimi from the Department of Sociology was crowned Miss Fresher.
The programme also featured special performances, an introduction round and an informal session. The vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. Nahong, President of the Students’ Council, while Dr. R. K. Behera, Principal of MGM College, concluded the programme with a closing prayer.
