Siliguri, Mar 2 (WE THE NAGAS): Two Naga women kickboxers under the Nagaland Association Kickboxing Organization (NAKO) brought laurels to the state at the Khelo India Asmita Kickboxing Zonal League (East Zone) 2025–26 held from February 26 to March 1 in Siliguri, West Bengal.

Miss Nukshikala Jamir from Mokokchung clinched a Gold medal in the Low Kick -70 kg category, while Miss Lemnon L. Konyak from Mon secured a Silver medal in the Low Kick -48 kg category. A total of 11 states from the East Zone participated in the tournament.

The Nagaland team was spearheaded by Mr. Khetoho Zhimomi, President of NAKO, along with Mr. Mongsen Longkumer, Coach, and Mr. Alemtemsu Longchar, General Secretary of NAKO.

Recently, Naga male kickboxers under NAKO also achieved remarkable success, bringing home five medals, including one gold, two silver, one bronze, and a fourth-place finish.

Established in the year 2000, NAKO has consistently contributed to the promotion of kickboxing in Nagaland. Over the years, the organization and its athletes have earned numerous medals and accolades through active participation at both national and international levels.
