𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐚, 𝐌𝐚𝐫 𝟓 (𝐖𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐒): Bihar could witness a major political shift as Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is reportedly planning to step down from his post and move to the Rajya Sabha, according to sources cited in national media reports.

Sources said Kumar, who has been one of the longest-serving chief ministers of the state, may file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha in the upcoming election. The move is expected to bring significant changes to the leadership structure of the state government.

If the transition takes place, Kumar’s son, Nishant Kumar, is likely to be appointed as the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. This development would mark Nishant Kumar’s formal entry into active politics.

Reports also indicate that the next Chief Minister of Bihar could be from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is currently an ally of Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) in the ruling coalition. However, there has been no official confirmation from the BJP or the JD(U) regarding the leadership change.

Political observers say the potential shift could reshape Bihar’s political landscape, especially ahead of future electoral battles. Discussions within party circles are believed to be ongoing, with key leaders closely monitoring developments in Patna and New Delhi.

Nitish Kumar, 75, has played a central role in Bihar politics for decades and has served multiple terms as Chief Minister. If he moves to the Rajya Sabha, it could mark the end of an era in the state’s political leadership.
