𝐍𝐞𝐰 πƒπžπ₯𝐑𝐒, π…πžπ› 𝟏𝟏 (𝐖𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐍𝐀𝐆𝐀𝐒): The Union Home Ministry has issued fresh guidelines on the national song Vande Mataram, mandating its formal rendition before the national anthem Jana Gana Mana at all government events, schools, and official ceremonies nationwide.

Under the updated protocol, all six stanzas of Vande Mataram, including four verses previously dropped, must be played in full. Audiences are required to stand when the song is performed, similar to the protocol for the national anthem.

The guidelines specify that Vande Mataram should be played at civilian award ceremonies such as the Padma Awards and at events attended by the President of India during arrival and departure. It will also be part of official state functions, including flag parades and addresses by the President or governors.

However, standing up for the national song will not be compulsory in cinema halls or similar public venues where it may be played.
