Zunheboto, March 9: The All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) has acknowledged the efforts of the Director General of Police, Nagaland and the state government for overseeing the recently concluded police recruitment process, while also urging authorities to ensure greater transparency in the declaration of results.
In a press release issued on March 9, the All Sümi Students’ Union (SKK) stated that the recruitment notification was originally issued on October 7, 2025. The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) was conducted from January 7 to 13, 2026, followed by the written examination on January 20. The final results were declared on February 25 after nearly a month-long evaluation process.
While appreciating the efforts involved in conducting such a large-scale recruitment exercise, the union appealed to the Nagaland Police Headquarters to reconsider its directive and ensure that the individual marks of all candidates are officially published through district centres. According to the union, making the marks public would help candidates clearly understand their results and address concerns following the re-evaluation process.
The SKK maintained that every aspirant has the right to know his or her performance, adding that transparency and accountability are essential for maintaining trust in any recruitment system. It warned that withholding marks can lead to confusion and unnecessary doubts among candidates who participated in the process in good faith.
The union also strongly recommended the adoption of the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) system for future written examinations, stating that it would allow faster evaluation, reduce human errors, and significantly improve transparency and credibility in the recruitment process.
