๐๐๐ฐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐ก๐ข, ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐ (๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐): Iran had reportedly approached India just days before the United States sank the Iranian warship IRIS Dena in the Indian Ocean, according to government sources.
Sources said Tehran had raised concerns about the safety of its vessel while it was returning from naval exercises hosted by India. However, Indian authorities clarified that the warship had already left Indian waters and was sailing in international waters when the US submarine attack occurred.
India also rejected claims that it shared intelligence with the US regarding the Iranian ship, calling such allegations โbaseless and absurd,โ officials said.
The Iranian frigate IRIS Dena, which had participated in the multinational MILAN naval exercise in Visakhapatnam, was torpedoed by a US submarine off the coast of Sri Lanka on March 4, killing dozens of sailors and escalating tensions in the region.
